I have a large family and we use the microwave a lot, especially in the summer when we don't want to heat up the house with using the oven. We also just moved so the microwave is getting a lot of use because it is easy to use until the kitchen is unpacked. One thing I hate though is getting the microwave all messed up with food popping as it cooks. This item is great for that. I know that the family can use a paper towel or something to cover their dish but for some reason, that seems to be too much work for everyone in my family. This is really easy for the to pop right over their food and they are good to go. While this would be very easy to store anywhere with its pop flat design, I store this right in the microwave. That way anytime anyone uses the microwave it is right in front of them. This can also be used for a strainer too. I don't usually use the microwave for pasta but the other night I was craving mac and cheese and did my pasta in the microwave. When it was done I just lifted it out, cover and all and flipped it all upside down to drain. So easy to do! The material is silicone and easily washes up.
