This Chef Essential Pizza stone is a geat deal for the quality of the product! This stone is a super large thick heavy duty stone that should last a lifetime. I have a Pampered Chef stone that I have used for a long time and when I ordered this, I was expecting something similar. This stone is by far a more heavy duty Pizza Stone. As you can see in the pictures, it is at least a half of an inch thick. The other stone I have isn't anywhere near that. I have always wanted to try the old one on the grill but never have because it felt too delicate to withstand it. This stone holds up to grilling beautifully! I cooked a homemade pizza on this tonight and it turned out fabulous. The crust was exactly right not to crisp but not soggy. The same pizza in the oven would have ended up soggy. I am so happy to have found these. I have all old hot pads (I am talking from my mom that she used ages ago. I absolutely LOVE the little finger covers that I can get things in and out of the oven with. So handy and if they get dirty, you just wipe them off or run them underwater. I have aspirations of baking pies this fall. I have never done it before but I am moving to a place that I will have fruit trees so ...pie. I ordered this to help motivate me to make pie crust in the fall but I have found I like to use it when making homemade pizza crust too. I love how this mat actually seems to stick to the countertop in my kitchen so it doesn't slide around at all when rolling out the dough for pizza. This is a very thin silicone and it has a lot of great info printed on it. The dough does not stick to this at all and it cleans up SO easily. It is dishwasher safe but I only needed to wipe this with a wet cloth and it was as good as new.
